Internet Network Information Center. InterNIC describes itself as "a cooperative activity between the National Science Foundation, Network Solutions, Inc. and AT&T." In addition to providing a wide variety of Internet related informational and educational services, InterNIC is the organization that registers domain names and allocates IP numbers.
